Biography
Robert has had more than 70 professional productions of Dads! The Musical! (Fringe First Award at the Edinburgh Festival). Other plays produced include : Dads 2: The Toddlers’ Revenge (Waterloo Stage, Mayfield Theatre Edmonton, Thousand Islands Playhouse Gananoque, Magnus Theatre); A Matter of Time (Theatre Orangeville, Victoria Playhouse Petrolia): Oil Rush (Victoria Playhouse Petrolia); Patches (Smile Theatre); Shadow Stealer (Carousel Players, Young Peoples Theatre, Academy Theatre Lindsay, Theatre Orangeville), Lovin, Lyin & Leavin (Huron Country Playhouse, Theatre Aquarius, Lighthouse Festival), Speak of the Devil, Summer Garden, Wooden Boats & Iron Men (Lighthouse Festival Port Dover Ontario).
His recent plays include: Karaoke Dreamer (Bluewater Playhouse): Everything I Love About Christmas (Upper Canada ,Theatre Orangeville 2015).
Robert is currently working on three new plays: Carry On Vamping, a vampire musical, The Thrilling Performance of Daisy Wisp – a shocking murder mystery, and The Seductions of Jessica, a sexy senior love comedy, and a film script Hunting Lavender.
As an actor, Robert has performed across the country with six years at the National Arts Centre and the Stratford Festival, and as a member of The Grand Theatre Company with Robin Phillips.
In the mask and puppet world, Robert was in such ground-breaking productions as Buchner’s “Woyzeck”, Strindberg’s “The Dream Play”, and Brecht’s “Happy End. (NAC, Tarragon, Edinburgh Festival, France Tour)
Robert has directed 90 professional productions, and he wishes to say “hi” to his four fantastic daughters, Caitlin, Emily, Rhianna and Heather, grandson Henry, and granddaughter Abby - they are the very best “productions” of all!
From 2014-2019 Robert was the Executive Director of Parrsboro Creative in the beautiful town of Parrsboro, Nova Scotia.
